• MDT involvement - Rheumatology and obstetrician
• low dose aspirin from week 12 of pregnancy until birth to help reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia
• Disease flares - short courses of high dose steroids can be used
• Hydroxychloroquine should be continued in all pregnant women with SLE
• Azathioprine is one of the only few immunosuppressive agents that has documented safety during pregnancy
