“Acute undifferentiated febrile illness”
Defined as a prolonged fever of > 3 weeks which resists diagnosis after a week in hospital
Initial assessment must include sepsis & other life-threatening causes, It’s not a FUO until you have looked for LRTI & UTI!
Immunosuppressed patients may lack normal 'localising signs'
