AKA diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis

Post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis typically occurs 7-14 days following GABHS (streptococcus pyogens), patients develop a nephritic syndrome

It is caused by immune complex (IgG, IgM and C3) deposition in the glomeruli. Young children are most commonly affected.

Occurs 1-2 weeks after a streptococcal throat infection

2-6 weeks after a streptococcal skin infection
