• Serious
• Persistent
• Unusual
• Recurrent

Most immunodeficiencies are identifiable from:

• Full blood count
• Immunoglobulins
• Serum complement (specific antibodies)
• HIV testing

Take a detailed family history

Consider specialist nursing, psychological support & genetic counselling

Monitor blood investigations for signs of ↓ FBC or other toxicity

Depends on severity of immunodeficiency :

Advice … prophylactic antibiotics … Ig replacement … BMT

Consider prophylactic antibiotics if immunosuppression is severe
